Present Employment
Curator, Art, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
Since 1988 I have been employed by this organisation, originally the National Art Gallery, then the National Art Gallery & Museum and now The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
- I commenced in 1988 as a Curator of Historical New Zealand Art
- Between 1990 and 1994 I was Curator-in- Charge or Senior Curator of Art (after this date the position was dis-established)
- Between 1994 and1997 I worked as a Concept Developer within the Project team of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
- My specialist areas are New Zealand Art (all periods), New Zealand Photography, Folk and Primitive Art, Contemporary Maori and Pacific Art. As well, I have an increasing interest in and knowledge of New Zealand decorative arts and design (as evidenced by the PARADE project at Te Papa).
