GameSwitch functions as a game trading website that gives users the ability to refresh their game library. The priority was always to give users the simplest, most effective trading mechanism while maintaining fairness throughout the GameSwitch community. In order to ensure the functionality met these requirements, the trading process was developed from scratch, utilizing e-commerce technologies and meshing effortlessly with Direct Payment Solutions for online payment processing.

The website itself incorporates many of the latest web technologies, keeping the design slick and visually appealing without compromising functionality or creating barriers for the user. Our goal was to create an efficient and easy to use interface.

GameSwitch offered us unique development challenges. The inherently complicated functionality needed behind the scenes had to manifest itself as a simple and easy system for the user to follow. The simplicity of the system thus required robust security measures to safeguard from attempts to compromise the trading scheme.

In order to generate the lists of games available on GameSwitch, multiple databases are compiled to bring in up-to-date game data along with competitive pricing information. These databases are refreshed constantly by GameSwitch allowing for incredibly accurate trading information.
GameSwitch, while implementing an email notification system, has its own internal messaging service and is plugged into social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook. This allows users to receive trading information in real time, keeping them updated on their trades, potential bargains and upcoming games.
GameSwitch has been designed for the New Zealand market, but the functionality has been left open ended for the possibility of moving into the global market in the future.
